The original design of the icondesk of michiel van der kley

It started with the design for a desk with an integrated computer where all wires and parts had to be tucked away. In this way, the form of a table with a small structure on one side was created.
Van der Kley liked this shape so much that he used it as a starting point for a series of office tables, which were since 2006 produced by ARCO , but are now produced by ICONICALS.(See about us ) The Icondesks are available in various finishes with one or with two drawers. The flowing lines in the design are beautifully emphasized by the material CORIAN which is ideal for such applications. The cool, smooth CORIAN compliments the warm timber of the drawer fronts and the inner part of the tabletop. The Icon desk stands on elegantly shaped legs of polished stainless steel, which gives it a somewhat light footed character.

A timeless design handcrafted from high quality materials. The strong shape and sober lines fit perfectly well in this time and age. The quality of the materials and the craftsmanship are a guarantee that the desk will endure the signs of the times without showing it. Quality as it should be. Oiled solid wood together with thermoformed Corian are the body that is supported by 4 brushed stainless steel legs. The solid wood
drawers are fitted with self- and soft closing drawer guides. The Corian is polished all round and can be repaired invisibly should any damage occur in the future. The oiled solid wood may be maintained with oil if need be, so that the material will remain as new. A small container with oil is supplied with the desk. And each desk is fitted with an engraved and unique number and year of production combined with a signature of the designer on the bottom of the desk.
